Kansas City Fringe Festival is creating a promotional video for this year's festival and we're inviting everyone to participate. On May 23rd we'll be meeting at Crown Center to shoot a "lip-dub" video. This is a video where the participants take turns lip syncing to a song, and you can see examples here:

www.universitylipdub.com

You can also find several examples on YouTube if you search for "University Lip Dub."

This is an opportunity for you to appear in the video as a show of support.  Fringe T-shirts will also be on sale at the event if you want to wear one for the shoot.

This is an open invitation to anyone that wants to participate, so invite your friends to come along. All are welcome, and the more people we get the more impressive the video will be. However, Fringe performers will get first dibs on lyrics.

The video will be directed by Matt Connolly and Bryan Colley. The song for the lip-dub video was written especially for the KC Fringe Festival by Ry Kincaid, whose play "(Not) Just for the Birds" will be performed at this summer's Fringe. Contact us for a copy of the lyrics and mp3.

The shooting will take place from 8am-noon on Sunday, May 23. It will require this much time to assign everyone their places, rehearse the video, and do the shooting, so we ask that the participants commit to the entire four hour block. Refreshments will be served. We'll be meeting in the atrium of Crown Center near the escalators.

If you want to participate in the lip-dub, you need to contact Matt Connolly at matt_connolly01@yahoo.com or call 816-809-5422 to reserve a spot. You will be notified in advance whether or not you will be given a lyric and which line it will be so you can prepare.

The final video will be available on YouTube and the KC Fringe website for you to share with your friends and family. We think this is a great way to spread the word about Fringe and we hope you're able to participate.

See you on the 23rd!
