Kansas City Actors Theatre continues its intimate 11th Season with Edward Albee's drama, AT HOME AT THE ZOO, directed by Doug Weaver.

AT HOME AT THE ZOO combines Albee's classic, The Zoo Story, with its prequel, Homelife, to form a complete story of Peter (a book editor), Ann (his wife), and Jerry (a desperate man Peter meets in the park). In this meticulous and nuanced look at the lives of three New Yorkers, an everyday conversation between a husband and wife takes an unexpected turn into dangerously personal territory. The revelations and confrontations catapult them from their delicately balanced world onto life-changing paths. With the intensity and honesty for which Albee is known, AT HOME AT THE ZOO reveals the cutting truth about the razor's edge of our humanity.

The cast features Kansas City Actors Theatre artist, Brian Paulette as Peter and two new-comers to the Actors Theatre family, Jessalyn Kincaid as Ann and Forrest Attaway as Jerry.

Alex Murphy stage manages. The design team includes Jeff Misenheimer/Set, Shane Rowse/ Lighting, Daniel Warneke/Sound Designer, Shannon Smith-Regnier/Costumes and Bill Christie/Props.

AT HOME AT THE ZOO opens tonight, September 12th, and performances will conclude on September 27. Audience talk-backs will follow performances on September 13, September 18, September 23. The September 13th talk-back will feature Dr. Jo Ann C. McDowell.

Dr. Jo Ann C. McDowell was associated with the prestigious William Inge Festival in Independence, Kansas, during its early formative decade while serving as a Dean, Executive Vice President and President of Independence Community College. On the 10th anniversary of the William Inge Festival, McDowell chose Edward Albee as the honored playwright. During that event, McDowell and Albee forged a friendship that lead to an almost two decade collaboration.
