They golfed for Art's sake! On Monday, April 12, 2010, golfers supporting the Katy Visual & Performing Arts Center (KVPAC) enjoyed a beautiful spring day on the lovely fairways at the Golf Club at Cinco Ranch in Katy. Proceeds from the event benefit KVPAC's ongoing programs and their commitment to the community of educating, healing and unifying through the arts.

"We raised over $6,000!" cheered Patti Lacy, Coldwell Banker United Realtor and Board President of KVPAC. "Thank you to all our sponsors and golfers for making this a huge event!!"
Golfers enjoyed lunch outside on the veranda before teeing off and later sat down to a delicious dinner catered by Hasta La Pasta and sponsored by Christus St. Catherine Hospital. Silent auction items, awards and door prizes were distributed afterwards.

Kristin Miller, KVPAC Community Outreach Director, said it best when thanking the golfers at the trophy ceremony. "Your participation is what makes it possible for us fulfill our mission to the community. Over 20,000 children and adults participate in KVPAC outreach programs and events each year and more than 70% are served free-of-charge," she explained. "Those served include the general public and under-served populations including those who are financially disadvantaged, at-risk youth, and mentally or physically challenged."
Bill Lacy, Senior Loan Officer of North American Lending and major event sponsor was overwhelmed by the community support for KVPAC and its programs. "This was a terrific turnout for a first time tournament," said Bill, who also coordinated the event on behalf of the KVPAC Board of Trustees. "Sponsors realize the importance of supporting arts education in Katy and we thank them for their generosity."

Fast Signs sponsored all event signs and Ricky Carr of Nestle' sponsored the water for players and volunteers. Both Newland Communities and the Wheaton & Kennedy Families were official cart sponsors. Prominent hole sponsors included Dave & Cindi Gardner, Houston Community College System, Patti Lacy - Coldwell Banker United, and Darren Rimmer - Stewart Organization. Christus St. Catherine sponsored dinner by Hasta La Pasta and Bill Lacy of North American Lending was the major corporate event sponsor.
"We hope to see everyone back again next year at the 2nd Annual KVPAC Spring Swing," added Patti Lacy. "The tournament is scheduled for Friday, April 15, 2011 at the Golf Club at Cinco Ranch. We thank them for being so accommodating and providing such a beautiful course."

Be on the lookout for KVPAC's next Board Fundraiser, the "Masquerade Mixer" at the fabulous Agave Road, September 16, 2010!
