Kansas City Repertory Theatre is proud to congratulate What Would Crazy Horse Do? Director, Sam Pinkleton on his Tony Award Nomination Best Choreography for his work on this season's Broadway hit musical Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, which led the field with 12 nominations, including Best Musical. Pinkleton previously choreographed KCRep's 2015 acclaimed production of Hair: Retrospection.

"Every season we are proud of our many collaborators who are recognized with major national awards, and this year is exceptional. To my memory, it's the first time an artist has been in our theater when the news was announced. When Sam's show What Would Crazy Horse Do? opens this weekend, there will be even more celebrations than usual," said Eric Rosen, the Rep's Artistic Director. "Kansas City is home to some of the best artists in the field, and we are thrilled to celebrate Sam and so many artists whose work has been recognized this season."

Rosen is especially honored that two of the four nominees for Best Choreographer this season have connections to the Rep: "Kelly Devine, nominated for her work on the hit Come From Away, choreographed A Christmas Story for the Rep in 2010 and Sam choreographed Hair in 2015. The photo of them together at the Tony Nominees Lunch makes us even more proud!"
