InPlay, Inc. Presents MISSING YOU, METROPOLIS

InPlay, Inc., presents its second production of the season,Missing You, Metropolis. The production is a part of the company's "By the Book" series of staged readings and was adapted from the poetry of Gary Jackson by: Tom Averill, Eric McHenry, Israel Wasserstein and Penny Weiner in collaboration with John Hunter and Lynn Wilson. Through the evocative poetry of Gary Jackson, the comic book world blends into the tragedy of family loss, a friend's suicide and the loneliness of an African-American in Topeka.

The production is co-directed by Penny Weiner and Jacqee Gafford and includes visual effects and images created by Todd Schwartz. Missing You, Metropolis will be presented in the Penn Valley Room at Just Off Broadway Theatre from November 18 through November 22, 2015. Just Off Broadway Theatre is located at 3051 Central near Penn Valley Park in Kansas City, Missouri. Gary Jackson is a Topeka, Kansas native. His book of poems, Missing You, Metropolis won the prestigious Cave Canem Poetry award for poetry in 2009.

Jackson uniquely interlaces the iconic comic book characters of Superman, Spiderman, Batman, Juggernaut and Magneto into his expressive poetry about a young man facing loss and racial isolation in Middle America. The Missing You, Metropolis cast includes: George Forbes, Sherri Roulette-Mosely, Laura Jacobs, Frank Lillig, Ana Oakley, Dennis Jackson, Lynn A. King and Tim Burks. Fran Farah stage manages and Todd Schwartz is the Technical Director and Light/Sound Designer.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5.00 for students. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Performance dates and times for Missing You, Metropolis are: November 18 at 7:30 PMNovember 19 at 7:30 PM.November 20 at 7:30 PM. November 21 at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM.November 22 at 2:00 PM
