Previews begin tomorrow, October 22, for Kansas City Rep's production of Lydia R. Diamond's Harriet Jacobs. Jessica Thebus directs. Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl, originally published in 1861, is Harriet Jacobs' autobiographical story about her journey out of slavery. It is considered to be one of the most important slave narratives of the Abolitionist Movement.

The cast of Harriet Jacobs includes: Damron Russel Armstrong (Daniel/Ensemble); Phillip James Brannon (Tom/Ensemble); Gilbert Glenn Brown (Samuel Treadwell Sawyer/Ensemble); Cheryl Lynn Bruce (Grandma); Shamika Cotton (Mary/Ensemble); David Fonteno (Master Norcom/Ensemble); Nambi Kelley (Harriet Jacobs); Ronica Reddick (Mistress Norcom/Ensemble).

The creative team for Harriet Jacobs includes Chicago-based designers Collette Pollard (Set Design; Jeremy W. Floyd (Costume Design); J.R. Lederle (Lighting Design); Andre Pluess (Composer/Sound Design) and Kansas City artists Jeffrey Cady (Projection Design) and Tyrone Aiken (Movement Director).

Harriet Jacobs runs October 22-November 21 (preview week is October 22-28) at Kansas City Repertory Theatre's Copaken Stage, One H&R Block Way (13th & Walnut), Kansas City, Missouri.
