Kansas City's Crown Center- an entertainment attraction with specialty shopping, concerts, theaters, and other entertainment venues- has released its schedule of events for February - November 2010.
An ongoing event that the Crown Center will present is its Fountain Water Shows in Crown Center Square. The famous Crown Center Square Fountain dances to famous tunes. Programmed by the company behind the renowned Fountains of Bellagio in Las Vegas, Crown Center's fountain is synchronized to music specially recorded for Crown Center by members of the Kansas City Symphony. The show schedule is weekday shows at noon and on the hour from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Weekend shows on the hour from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. There is also a 10 p.m. show on Friday and Saturday.
From January 8 - February 21 the American Heartland Theatre, located in the Crown Center Shops on level 3, will show GLORIOUS!- A TRUE STORY ABOUT THE WORLD'S WORST SINGER. The musical is based on the true story of Florence Foster Jenkins, an eager but hopelessly inept American soprano, who built a whole career out of unintentionally butchering beautiful music. At the pinnacle of her improbable fame, she even charmed real artists like Cole Porter, who may have admired her chutzpah as much as they relished the sheer ludicrousness of her performances.
