Cloris Leachman played her first film role when she was seven. In it she showed real promise.  Seventy-six years later she has, in multiple ways, fulfilled that promise.  She has walked a road that only she could have laid out. Cloris Leachman is one of the few actresses that have created such a majestic diversity of roles in every entertainment medium.

Some remember Cloris most as the zany, self-centered Phyllis on the Mary Tyler Moore Show, others for her hilarious Frau Blucher in Young Frankenstein and her conically breasted Nurse Diesel in High Anxiety, others for her awesomely prejudiced grandmother in Malcolm In The Middle.  And there are those who remember her gracious fluidity with Shakespeare's lines when she played opposite Katharine Hepburn on Broadway in As You Like It and her soaring success on Broadway has Nellie Forbush, the singing lead in South Pacific.

In contrast to these creations are Cloris' superb dramatic performances.  She won her Oscar as Ruth Popper, the emotionally-barren woman in The Last Picture Show.  The Oscar sits regally on a shelf in Cloris's home alongside her nine Emmys, the most ever won by an actor.

In dining with presidents and prime ministers, senators and congressmen, in working with the great talents of the entertainment industry, Cloris has lived an exciting life.  In giving birth to four boys and a girl, in losing one of her sons to drugs, in becoming first a grandmother and now a great grandmother, Cloris has known the exhilaration and tears of family life.

Cloris' one woman show draws from the magical moments in her professional and personal careers.  In the show she presents six iconic film clips from her vast body of work, many personal photographs are flashed on a large screen as Cloris recounts her amazing life and as a final curtain call, hugs every member of the audience. The show is everything you'd expect from the unique and multitalented Cloris Leachman.

Cloris Leachman (born April 30, 1926) is an actress of stage, film and television. She has won eight Primetime Emmy Awards-more than any other female performer-and one Daytime Emmy Award. She won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in the 1971 film The Last Picture Show. She is best known for playing the nosy, self-centered and manipulative landlady Phyllis Lindstrom on the 1970s TV series Mary Tyler Moore, and later on the spinoff series, Phyllis. She also appeared in three Mel Brooks films, including Young Frankenstein and High Anxiety.  In recent years, she became very popular for her recurring role as Lois's ruthless mother on Malcolm in the Middle.

Leachman was a contestant on Season 7 (2008) of Dancing With The Stars, paired with Corky Ballas. At the age of 82, she is the oldest contestant to dance on the series. She was voted off in the sixth round on October 28.

Leachman was the grand marshal for the 2009 New Year's Day Tournament of Roses Parade and Rose Bowl Game in Pasadena, California.  She presided over the 120th parade, the theme being "Hats Off to Entertainment", and the 95th Rose Bowl game.

In the past year (2009) Leachman completed work on eight films, American Cowslip, You Again, Inglourious Basterds, New York I Love You, The Oogieloves, The Fields and Expecting Mary.

 On TV in 2009 Cloris was seen in the following: Bob Saget Roast (Comedy Central), Love Takes Wings (Hallmark Movie), The Office (Post Super Bowl XLIII), Phineas and Ferb, and HawthoRNe. She is currently stars in the new hit comedy Raising Hope (FOX), which was the first show to have received a full-season order for Fall 2010.

In 2009, Cloris also released her bestselling autobiography Cloris: My Autobiography (Kensington Books) which was released in paperback March 2010.
