In this workshop students will begin (or continue) their journey of uncovering their personal clown. This type of clowning uses a red nose and is rooted in the teachings and techniques of Jacques Lecoq. Curriculum will include the principles of awareness, availability, simple presence, status, partnering, and ensemble play. No experience necessary, just an open heart and a brave soul!

Instructor: Stephanie Roberts is an Assistant Professor of Physical Theatre in UMKC's MFA Acting Program where she teaches Clown, Mask, Epic Storytelling and Commedia dell'Arte. She has created many original works including her recent solo show, The Mask of Broken Heart at the Fishtank Performance Studio and her theatrical band, Boom! An International Lost and Found Family Marching Band. This year Stephanie received Charlotte Street Foundation's 2010 Generative Performing Artist Award.
