The Barn Players have been notified that their production of "August: Osage County", May 30th through June 15th this season, has been nominated for the prestigious OUTSTANDING PLAY AWARD OF THE YEAR AWARD by IMEA, the International Music and Entertainment Association. Notification was received today from Colt Chambers, President of IMEA.
In addition to the play a number of the cast members and production staff have also been nominated for awards, including actors Stasha Case, Tim Alhlenius, Barb Nichols and Greg Butell - Darren Sextro was nominated for directing - Crain McCann was nominated for lighting - Frank Polleck was nominated for set design and of course the show itself for Outstanding Play of The Year.
The IMEA Awards Ceremony will be held on October 4, 2014 at the Paramount Arts Center in Ashland, Kentucky - the Awards were developed to recognize the best in independent music and theatre internationally ... it is a very high honor to receive nominations along with theatres nationally and internationally.
The public may vote for the nominated play, actors and staff by going to the IMEA website www.IMEAAwards.com/vote and follow the voting instructions -- fans of the Barn Players, area actors and all members of our community are encouraged to cast votes; voting will end August 27th at 11:59 p.m.

The coming 2015 season will be the 60th Anniversary of the Barn Players presenting great theatre continually each year since 1955.
