Heartland Men's Chorus will present From the Heart, a concert of HMC's greatest hits on Friday, November 10 at 7:30 PM in the stunning new sanctuary of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, Leawood, Kansas. Composer/pianist Mark Hayes will be featured, accompanying pieces he has written for HMC and presenting piano selections from his latest album. This Concert includes both sacred and secular favorites with stunning visuals, powerful solos, and diverse genre of music.

Kansas City resident Mark Hayes is an award-winning concert pianist, composer, arranger and conductor. His personal catalog, totaling over 1,000 published works, includes work for solo voice, solo piano, multiple pianos, orchestra, jazz combo, small instrumental ensembles, and choruses of all kinds. In addition to his involvement in the sacred and secular choral music fields, Hayes is an accomplished orchestrator and record producer. The album, I've Just Seen Jesus, which Mark arranged, orchestrated and co-produced, received the Dove Award for Praise and Worship Album of the Year in 1986. In June 2010 Mark released his first CD of original songs titled All Is Well, featuring Kansas City jazz artist, Monique Danielle. Mark Will accompany the chorus for several numbers in addition to performing featured piano solos.

There are some standout chorus numbers in this concert including "I Love You More" in honor of Tyler Clementi featuring guest soloist, Nancy Nail; and Mark Hayes arrangements of "I Sing Out", "Grace", and the poetry of Maya Angelou inspired "I Rise". This concert is a great segue into the Thanksgiving season with uplifting music that is sure to enlighten, heal, and empower.

General Admission Tickets for Friday, November 10 at 7:30 PM performance are available through HMCKC.org for $20, or Senior tickets are available for $15 and student tickets are available for $5 by calling the box office 816-931-3338.
