Astra Theatre company's Artistic Director Taylor Harlow announced today the Company's plan for a one-night-only fundraising concert on Friday December 28th, 2018 at 8pm. "An Evening With Astra" will take place at Musical Theatre Heritage's Mainstage located in Crown Center.
In an evening of song and storytelling, the program will feature some of Kansas City's brightest stars and showcase a sneak peak of their inaugural season set for 2019-2020. These productions include The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams (Fall 2019), Anna Bella Eema by Lisa D'Amour (Winter 2020), and Lungs by Duncan MacMillan (Spring 2020). Proceeds from the evening will make the inaugural season possible.
The evening will feature the talents of Taylor Avazpour, Jessica Alcorn, Darrington Clark, Anthony Fortino, Elizabeth Reese, Brooke Lacey, Emma Marston, Cooper McGuire, and Morgan Walker. The performance will be music directed by Jeremy Jacobs and directed by Taylor Harlow.
Astra Theatre Company is a new non profit theatre company founded by a collective of Kansas City local performers including Taylor Harlow, Anthony Fortino, Elizabeth Reese, and Emma Marston. Their growing board of directors currently includes local actor Taylor Avazpour, Gardner native Britton Erskine, and NYC actress Gabby Fried.
