American Heartland Theatre starts 2011 off right with an encore of the hit show Maybe Baby, It's You. Maybe Baby, It's You is a light-hearted comedy about the search for that most elusive of entities, the soul mate. Told in a series of 11 vignettes that cover ground from the first kiss to the not-so-golden years of marriage; Maybe Baby, It's Youtakes us on a raucous ride through male-female relationships with two searchers who have a laundry list of must-have qualities for a mate that swiftly dwindles down to "warm and breathing" as the only prerequisite; a mild-mannered Midwesterner whose blind date turns out to be the Greek goddess Medea; a film noir couple who realize that their razor-sharp banter is hiding their fear and vulnerability; a gorgeous, charming brain surgeon who is always "Mr. Wrong" due to his penchant for spastic, arrhythmic club dancing; a couple celebrating their wedding anniversary who realize that marriage may not have ended their search for a soul mate; an elderly divorced couple who entertain the fantasy of a reconciliation at their grandson's soccer game; and other would-be and shouldn't-be couples trying to find each other. Maybe Baby, It's You. Or maybe...it isn't.

American Heartland Theatre brings this sure-to-please comedy to life with two talented Kansas City actors. Chase Ashurst (He) makes his American Heartland debut with Maybe Baby, It's You. A 2005 graduate of University of Central Missouri (UCM) with a BFA in Theatre Performance, Chase has recently been doing film and voiceover work for Exposure Model and Talent. In addition, he does sales and marketing for The Rye Studio, a photography studio owned by his wife, Amy. Jessalyn Kincaid (She) returns to AHT, where she was last seen in the hit musical I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. Jessalyn has appeared on almost every professional stage in town, including the Kansas City Repertory, The New Theatre Restaurant, Coterie Theatre, Quality Hill Playhouse, Unicorn Theatre and Musical Theater Heritage.

Paul Hough (Direction and Costume Design) has directed more than 45 productions at American Heartland Theatre. Paul holds L.A. Drama Critic's Awards and Chicago Joseph Jefferson Citations for both Direction and Production and a Kansas City Best of Theatre Award for Production. The set design is by Alex Perry, lighting design by Shane Rowse, sound design by Donna Miller, and properties design by William J. Christie.

Maybe Baby, It's You is rated PG-13. Tickets can be ordered online at www.ahtkc.com or through the AHT Box Office at 816-842-9999. Handicapped entry and seating, as well as assistive listening devices, are available at all performances. An ASL-interpreted performance is scheduled for Wednesday February 16, 2011 at 7:30 PM.
