West Side Story International Tour Seeking Lighting Technicians - Sundance Productions

One of the most successful stage plays of all time, West Side Story, is finally back in the award-winning production, the only one in the world to feature Jerome Robbins' original choreography. With its Broadway premiere in 1957, West Side Story redefined an entire genre in terms of music and dance. The original film adaptation, which won ten Oscars, made the musical known to an audience of millions. To this day, West Side Story stands for itself as the undisputed number 1 of American music theatre: courageous, realistic and as explosive as on the first day.

On Stage Productions GmbH is looking for the international tour of the first-class production West Side Story from the beginning of November 2022 until the end of 2023.



Deck LX/ Operator m/f/d

Your tasks include:

- Operation of the lighting desk

- Tasks of the deck LX

- Replacement for Follow Spot Operator

- Relighting the show

-Repair of the lamps

- Running the load ins and loads out for LX

-Heading up the LX department

You should bring:

- Ideally training as an event technician or electrician

- Experience as a lighting operator for musicals, preferably in the theater and/or on tour

- A high degree of commitment, initiative and team spirit

- good English knowledge

- Willingness to change working hours (evening and weekend shifts) at different locations

Lighting Technician LX 2 m/f/d

Your tasks include:

- Operation of the lighting desk

- Performing show cues in the light area

- Performing cues for other departments

- Service work on lamps

- System check before each show

- Assembly and disassembly of the lighting system, working the load in and load outs

-Cover for the head of department when required

- Cover followspot when required

What you should bring with you:

- Ideally training as an electrician or electronics technician

- Experience in the field of musicals, preferably in the theatre and/or on tour

- good English knowledge

HEALTH / SAFETY INFORMATION: All touring employees will be required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 and adhere to strict protocols and guidelines when traveling with the tour. The Producer’s protocols will be in addition to any local, city, state, national, and/or international guidelines that are in place.
