Roswell Cultural Arts Center is thrilled to present VIOLET THE MUSICAL. This production includes a mixture of actor/singers and actor/singer/musicians.



SEEKING: Atlanta-based Non-Equity actors.

This production includes a mixture of actor/singers and actor/singer/musicians. Actor/musicians proficiencies include: guitar (acoustic and electric), violin/viola, bass (acoustic and electric), and percussion.

Callbacks on Monday, July 15 from 6pm-10:30pm.



PREPARATION:

Sides will be provided when your appointment is confirmed. Please prepare the songs/sides provided for the character(s) you are most interested in. Accompaniment by the Musical Director. For any instrument you include on your musical instrument skills list, please bring it with you (if portable) and play a short piece that shows your skill. Piano will be available at the audition. If submitting a video, please do the same.



REHEARSAL/PERFORMANCE DATES:

Rehearsals run March 1-20, 2025, weekday evenings and weekends.

Performances are March 21-23, 2025.



SALARIES: All roles will be a minimum of $300 per week.



SYNOPSIS: Set in 1964 in the American South, with the nation on the cusp of radical change. Violet embarks on a journey both literally and metaphorically to heal the wound that has left her scared both physically and emotionally. Violet is a moving musical featuring show-stopping anthems, ranging from American-roots to folk to gospel. Created by Jeanine Tesori (Caroline, or Change; Thoroughly Modern Millie; Shrek; Fun Home) and Brian Crawley (A Little Princess) Violet won the Drama Critics’ Circle Award and Lucille Lotrel Award for Best Musical when it premiered Off-Broadway in 1997, and then earned a Tony-nomination in 2014 with the Broadway version starring Sutton Foster.


Salary: $300/week
