Technical Director - Off-Beat Players

Off-Beat Players is a 501(c)(3) non-profit theater company for young adults with and without disabilities. Each summer, performers and production staff work together to produce a full-length musical. Off-Beat Players believes that creative expression through musical theatre production should be available to all young adults, regardless of disability.



We are currently seeking a Technical Director for our 2023 production of The Wizard of Oz (show dates: August 4th, 5th, and 6th).



Responsibilities:



Work cooperatively with the Artistic Director to develop an artistic vision for the production/s.

Work collaboratively with the Artistic Director, Choreographer and Musical Director to organize rehearsals.

Work cooperatively with Set Designers, Sound and Lighting Designers.

Manage and oversee set crew responsibilities and coordinate volunteer schedules with set crew volunteers.

Communicate all scheduling needs to the Program Director

Evaluate the need for set design materials and communicate these needs to the Artistic Director and Program Director.

Work directly with Set Designer and Sound/Lighting Designer to coordinate and schedule technical rehearsals.

Assist with production projects including the following: prop design completion, set design completion, backstage organization.

Work cooperatively with the Program Director and the Stage Manager to identify volunteers for the stage crew.

Work cooperatively with the Stage Manager to create an efficient plan for the stage crew to follow during set changes.
