Summary of Position
Looking for Teachers to fill multiple positions. Teachers will work closely with the Raue Center Education Team to imagine, realize, coordinate, and implement the program and classes.
The program consists of multiple programs for children ages 18 months through 12years old.
Below is the list of job duties, but it is not exhaustive.
Primary Responsibilities:
● Create and execute theatre curriculum with the help of our full time staff. This includes
but is not limited to choreography and directing.
● Classes range in age and ability but all will include a form of storytelling, music, devising,
theatre arts, and dance.
● Be prepared for your students to perform a showcase at the end of a class period.
Generally our classes run six weeks.
● Prepare and reset rooms for programming
● Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Activities:
● We are seeking candidates over the age of 18 that have a passion for working with children. Candidates with teaching experience and arts education experience will be prioritized for this position. The hired candidate will be trained and assisted by staff members at Raue Center for the Arts.
Other desired skills included but are not limited to:
● An interest in arts education and teaching
● Strong communication, organizational, and writing skills
● Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
● Flexibility and ability to work independently
● 2-3 years of Dance, or Musical Theatre, or Theatre experience
● 2-3 years of teaching experience
Time Commitment
● We are offering multiple classes this fall. Classes range from a 45 minute commitment
once a week to a 1.5 hour class offered twice a week.
● Class length varies (Fall Semester runs from the week of September 5th - December 12th. Classes will either be 6 or 14 weeks long)
● Stipend pay varies depending on the class being taught.
● Currently the time commitments for the classes being offered are:
○ Tuesday and Wednesday, daytime (flexible hours, 18 months - 4 years)
○ Tuesday 4:00 - 4:45 (5 - 6 year olds)
○ Thursday, Acting (Ages 7 - 8) - Monday 4:30 - 5:30
○ Acting (9 - 10) - Thursday 4:30 - 5:30
○ Acting (11 - 12) - Wednesday 4:30 - 5:30 OR Thursday 4:30 - 5:30
○ Acting II (Scene Study, Ages 13 and up) - Monday and Wednesdays 4:00 - 5:30
