Attention! Attention! THE GOLD DUST ORPHANS, Boston’s acclaimed comedic theatre company, are seeking performers for our next Holiday Extravaganza: THE ROCKY MENORAH CHRISTMAS SHOW! This is Boston's favorite holiday tradition. Don't miss your chance to join the extraordinary company of the Orphans.



SEEKING:

BRAD- Male Elf, 20’s-30’s Handsome American Boy. Engaged to Janet. Our hero. Seeking a strong rock singer, must be comfortable appearing in only underwear. JANET- Female Elf, 20’s-30’s The innocent girl in love with Brad. Seeking a strong rock singer, must be comfortable appearing only in underwear. COLUMBIA/CLARICIA- Female Reindeer, 20’s-30’s. The good time “gal” in Mrs Grinchley-furter’s House. Still mourning Eddie, her flame. Tap skills strongly preferred. Rock singer preferred.



Dancers-- all genders, all races and ethnicities. Dancers with experience in tap, jazz, musical theatre to join the Glitterpuss Dancers, our chorus for the show. Dancers need not be comfortable singing, though singers who dance are also encouraged to submit. Dancers should feel comfortable in a variety of styles. Particularly seeking dancers who are comfortable lifting other dancers/performers and performing acrobatic tricks.

*Note: all genders listed are the genders of the character, but we welcome submissions from people of any gender for all roles. Drag performers are also encouraged to submit.



All performers are paid. Flat fee of $2,500 for rehearsals and performances.



Rehearsals begin November 1st. Rehearsals are Tuesday - Friday evenings and Saturday and Sunday afternoons/evenings. Performers should expect to attend most rehearsal dates.

Tech begins the Friday after Thanksgiving. Performers MUST be available for all dates of tech.

Shows Thursday, Nov 30- Saturday, Dec 23 Thursdays, Friday, Saturdays at 7:30 Saturdays and Sunday at 4:00

All rehearsals and performances are held at the Iron Wolf Theatre in South Boston. T-accessible (red line and bus lines).

Interested parties should send a headshot and resume (if you have one) to timbolawton@gmail.com with “Rocky Menorah” in the subject line. If you do not have a formal headshot, send a recent photo of you from the shoulders up (full body shots are also accepted in addition to your headshot). If you do not have a formal resume, please send a description of any performance (acting, singing, dance, comedy, burlesque, etc.) that you have and why you are interested in the show and the role. Please also include all known conflicts for the rehearsal period.



Brad and Janet submissions should include a video of yourself singing up to 16 bars of an up-tempo rock or musical theatre song that showcases your talents, and a 1-minute comedic monologue.



Columbia submissions should include up to 16 bars of a rock or up-tempo musical theatre song, a 1-minute comedic monologue, and a clip of up to 30 seconds of you tap dancing (if you can).



Dancers should submit a 1-2 minute clip or clips of you performing in various styles. Dance reels that you have that are longer will also be accepted. Preferably include a clip of yourself tapping, if you can. If you sing, please feel free to include an additional clip of you singing up to 16 bars of a rock or up tempo musical theatre song.
Salary: $2,5000 (flat fee)
