Summer Internship Positions - Maples Repertory Theatre

LISTING INFORMATION

Maples Repertory Theatre in Macon, Missouri is seeking a staff of interns to join the 2022 Company.

Maples Repertory Theatre (MRT), Upstate Missouri’s Professional theatre is located in Macon, a town population of 5500. The current season includes six full-scale Equity mainstage productions, two cabaret concerts, and a series of small “Afterglow” cabarets, all performed in it’s 300 seat historic Royal Theatre. Our mission: To provide professional theatre experiences and to develop and promote an appreciation for live theatre in rural northern Missouri. We serve about 11,000 patrons of all ages mostly from a rural 14-county area. In addition to our mainstage series, MRT has a robust youth theatre education program, four professional TYA performances, and a burgeoning new play workshop during the summer.



2022 Summer Season Mainstage Productions:

The Great American Trailer Park Musical: June 15- July 10

The Nerd: June 24 - July 31

Hank Williams: Lost Highway: July 15 - August 7



Internship dates: May 28th- August 8th, 2022 (11 weeks with a possible week extension before or after these dates)



Stitcher/ Wardrobe Intern:

Reports to Costume Shop Manager

Serve on four mainstage shows (three summer shows and the build for the fall show)

Possible onstage or offstage role in TYA show

Teach and assist with Skills Camp

In charge of laundry and dressing on mainstage shows

Work in costume shop with builds, fittings, and other duties as assigned

Assist with set up/tear down of Boots and Black Tie event

Work 2 Sunday Dinners, assisting with prep and cleanup



Carpentry Intern:

Reports to Technical Director

Assist with build for four mainstage shows (three summer shows and the build for the fall show)

Serve on run crew as necessary

Assist with rep set change overs

Possible onstage or offstage role in TYA show

Teach and assist with Skills Camp

Assist with set up/tear down of Boots and Black Tie event

Work 2 Sunday Dinners, assisting with prep and cleanup



General Tech Intern:

Reports to Technical Director

Assist with light hang and focus and sound checks as needed

Work with carpenters, Master Electrician, and TD as needed

Assist with rep set change overs

Serve on four mainstage shows (three summer shows and the build for the fall show)

Possible onstage or offstage role in TYA show

Teach and assist with Skills Camp

Assist with set up/tear down of Boots and Black Tie event

Work 2 Sunday Dinners, assisting with prep and cleanup



Audience Services/Hospitality Intern:

Reports to Director of Audience Services

Assist with FOH duties during performances, including dessert and concessions sales

Sell tickets and assist with other box office duties

Work with house manager to keep facilities functional and clean

Possible onstage or offstage role in TYA show

Teach and assist with Skills Camp

Assist with set up/tear down of Boots and Black Tie event

Assist with program ad sales and sponsorship events

Create connections with local businesses and ad partners

Work 2 Sunday Dinners, assisting with prep and cleanup



Education Intern:

Reports to Education Director

Assist with all kids summer camps, including those onsite and any camps contracted with community partners in the surrounding 14-county area (Kids Camp on the Road)

Set up and tear down TYA shows

Possible onstage or offstage role in TYA show

Assist and lead Skills Camp organization and planning

Create connections with local businesses, schools, and families

Assist with set up/tear down of Boots and Black Tie event

Work 2 Sunday Dinners, assisting with prep and cleanup



Marketing/Business Intern:

Reports to HR/Accounting Manager

Assist with onboarding and record keeping, payroll and contact information, collecting invoices to balance with credit card statements

Filing daily reports and accounts payable invoices, as well as keeping accounts payable files current and organized

Teach and assist with Skills Camp

Possible onstage or offstage role in TYA show

Assist with set up/tear down of Boots and Black Tie event

Assist with program ad sales and sponsorship events

Create connections with local businesses and ad partners

Work 2 Sunday Dinners, assisting with prep and cleanup





Maples Rep guarantees the following to its intern company:

One full day off every week, 40 hour work week

Provided housing in Macon, MO

Two comp tickets for each of the three mainstage shows and four comps to each of three TYA summer productions

Stipend: $200 /week

Interns may participate in performance opportunities (First Friday Afterglow, the Summer Cabaret) as desired.
