ABOUT THE POSITION
Seeking to fill positions immediately for Stage Managers and Assistant Stage Managers who will be contracted to work upcoming productions in our season which open in October and November. Potential growth opportunity available to become Resident Stage Manager with recurring productions throughout our season both at our Black Box at Sunset Place and other recognized venues.
All productions rehearse at Sunset Place. Rehearsal and Performance Schedule to be determined for each show. Performances for each production run for 2+ weekends, with a minimum of 4 performances per week.
Responsibilities:
Work with production management to create a production calendar complete with important dates including, but not limited to, table reads, fittings, off book, designer runs, photo calls etc.
Work with the director and music director to set the rehearsal schedule for the production and communicate all schedules and any changes to the cast and administrative team.
Liaise and partner with production management to ensure day-to-day rehearsal needs are being met.
Clear out and set up the rehearsal room each day prior to the beginning of rehearsal with the team; clean and store all props and rehearsal equipment in their designated storage areas after rehearsal.
Facilitate the use of any media in the rehearsal room.
Circulate a daily rehearsal report for all rehearsals.
Track cast attendance at rehearsals, noting in daily rehearsal report when actors are late or absent.
Call breaks per equity rules.
Create a prompt script compiled with notes on actors’ cues and requirements for props, light, and sound.
Oversee any ASM/PAs assigned to production throughout process.
Work with the director and designers to maintain up-to-date props list.
Maintain an up-to-date task list which details projected deadlines and tracks status on projects related to acquisition and fabrication of scenery, props, and costume pieces for the production.
Establish and enforce protocols to ensure the safety and security of the venue and all company members.
Lead all production meetings; as scheduled with production management.
Create and distribute run sheets for crew and oversee crew needs throughout tech and performances.
Lead technical rehearsals in the space, working with production management to balance the technical and artistic needs of the production.
Create and maintain script with all lighting, sound, and set change cues specifically to call the show.
Run sound cues through QLab at performances.

QUALIFICATIONS
At least 3-5 years of professional stage management experience; experience on musical or opera productions preferred.
Proficient in QLab
Familiarity with basic technical theatre equipment, technology, procedures, and troubleshooting
Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite. Familiarity across Apple/Mac and Windows.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
Strong problem solving, writing, logistical skills, and ability to work under pressure.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels of an organization using verbal, written formal and informal methods.
Energetic individual with ability to adapt through new experiences and situations.
Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Consistent application of confidentiality, discretion, diplomacy, and tact.
Must speak English fluently. Bi-lingual candidates preferred.
Salary: $300-$500/wk
