Seeking Non Union Toronto Based Director for Sarah DeLappe's The Wolves - All The Hats Productions

The All The Hats Productions is currently seeking a non-union, Toronto based Director for our upcoming production of Sarah DeLappe’s The Wolves running April 6th-10th, 2022.



“Left quad. Right quad. Lunge. A girls indoor soccer team warms up. From the safety of their suburban stretch circle, the team navigates big questions and wages tiny battles with all the vim and vigor of a pack of adolescent warriors. A portrait of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for nine American girls who just want to score some goals.”



All The Hats Productions seeks create opportunities for emerging theatre artists of marginalized genders to gain experience, particularly in fields of Direction, Theatre Tech and Design. Artists of a marginalized gender are strongly encouraged to submit for this project.



Description:

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, flexible and innovative emerging artist with a passion for telling female-centric stories. Due to the public health situation in Ontario, while the production is currently planned to take place in-person, the Director will need to be comfortable transitioning to a virtual format should public health restrictions change.



Ideal qualifications include:

- Prior experience Directing in educational or independent theatre spaces and/or education or training in Directing.

- An intention to pursue Directing professionally.

- Flexible evening and weekend scheduling availability.

- Experience with movement work.

- Soccer skills/experience a particular asset.



Financial compensation will come in the form of an honorarium of $200



Applications will be open until February 10th, 2022. Interviews will be conducted via Zoom during the afternoons of February 11th and 12th, 2022.



Auditions will be conducted via self-tape, with in person callbacks taking place the weekend of February 25th-27th, and rehearsals beginning on or around March 2nd.
