COMPANY XIV



Company XIV fuses dance, theater, circus, opera, burlesque and decadent design to create one-of-a-kind theatrical experiences inspired by the court culture which flourished under the reign of Louis XIV. Founded by Artistic Director Austin McCormick in 2006, the company produces several 360-degree immersive productions annually at its 175-seat Théâtre XIV in Bushwick, Brooklyn. XIV’s commitment to pushing boundaries is unparalleled, employing dozens of eclectic artists annually in immersive and genre-defying baroque burlesque productions. Recent mainstage events include Nutcracker Rouge, Cinderella, and Queen of Hearts. Currently running: Seven Sins.





POSITION



Company XIV seeks a non-union, detail-oriented, organized, sophisticated, smart, and friendly individual who will serve as Show Caller and Assistant Stage Manager for their current show, Seven Sins. The stage management team is a small but fierce group who must possess a willingness to jump in to help with all departments as needed.



This position will be trained with the intention of primarily show calling, but will also learn the assistant stage manager track to ensure proper coverage for the team.

SCHEDULE



Seven Sins performs 4 performances per week, Thursday-Sunday at 8PM, through August 28, 2022. The Show Caller/ASM is expected to work 3-4 shifts each week, depending on performance schedule, beginning sometime in May depending on availability. Show Caller/ASM is required to be available to work holidays.





RESPONSIBILITIES



Calling the show 2-3 times per week; executing light and sound cues, and special effects (confetti, glitter)

Completing daily dimmer check, sound check, and rigging check, with the ability to troubleshoot issues that arise.

Following protocols set by the PSM to ensure a smooth performance.

Distributing performance reports.

Learning and running an ASM track 1-2 times per week; sweeping/mopping, prop presets/tracking, spot light cues, etc





QUALIFICATIONS



At least 3 years experience as a show calling stage manager for a cue heavy show

At least 5 years experience as an assistant stage manager.

ETC ion and Qlab knowledge and understanding - you will be pressing “go” for both boards!

Strong organizational, leadership and communication skills, including a positive attitude and being a team player.

Genuine excitement about being part of a small team, and looking to put down roots in a growing company.

Must be able to problem solve at a moment’s notice and anticipate problems before they happen, whether it be safety concerns for performers or audience, or any elements needing repair.
