About the Position: Production Stage Manager (PSM) is responsible for overseeing the rehearsal and performance processes by facilitating a welcoming, fun, collaborative, productive, efficient, and safe environment for all. The PSM will collaborate closely with the Producing Artistic Director, creative teams, and production staff. The PSM will also serve as the Props Manager, overseeing all props for each mainstage show. They are responsible for scheduling the actor(s) in rehearsal, in association with the Director, and communicating that schedule clearly and efficiently. The PSM is responsible for rehearsals running smoothly: bringing joy into the space, calling all breaks, being available for the actors, being available for the team, helping run sound/music in rehearsals, and ensuring that all needs are discussed, prepared, and met. The PSM is accountable for distributing, tracking, and returning all scripts/scores at the beginning and end of each production process. The PSM must take detailed notes, keeping a thorough and accurate written record of the show as staging is created. The PSM is responsible for tracking blocking, props, costumes, and set pieces. They will arrive 30 minutes before every scheduled rehearsal to ensure that the building is open and ready for all artists. They will help maintain and keep the rehearsal space organized and clean before and after all rehearsals. After each rehearsal, the PSM will prepare a detailed rehearsal report and distribute it to the entire creative team and production staff. The PSM will participate in all production meetings and design sessions which may be called outside of rehearsal hours. They will help oversee the technical rehearsal process and help transition the show from rehearsal space to the theatre. The PSM will run all performances by scheduling actors and crew, facilitating pre-show sweeping of the stage/prop prep/fight calls/dance calls, communicating pre-show call times, "calling the show" for each performance, and sending out performance reports following each performance. Greenville Theatre has approximately 6 mainstage shows a season and rehearses in the evening (Monday-Friday 7-10:30pm and Sundays from 1-6pm). The Production Stage Manager will serve as PSM during the entire process of the 4 musicals and serve as the “calling PSM” for the 2 plays in our year-round season. Salary: $30,000 per year ($5,000 per show) plus insurance plan.
