POSITION SUMMARY

IAMA Theatre Company is seeking a passionate hands-on Production Manager to manage the space, time, and money of the production. This position will be the liaison between the producers and the design team. Production Manager will handle designers’ departmental budgeting, scheduling work, and coordinating the various production departments; ensuring that all aspects of the production are safely completed within budget, according to the designers’ and director's wishes, and in time for the first public performance.

Start - August 15th, 2022

End - December 15th, 2022



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES



Scheduling

-In collaboration with Producers and Stage Management, develop the schedules as below.

-Develop and administer production calendar

-Design departmental deadlines for production

-Determine load-in, tech and strike schedules for the stage.

-Manage resource calendars for all shared facility spaces.

-Schedule all interdepartmental design and production meetings.

-Coordinate and conduct production meetings



Budgeting

-Develop, with Producers and Producing Director, what the financial needs of the production might be.

-Supervise production budgets, including adjusting or redistributing as the design and production concepts and needs shift.

-Keep the Producers and Producing Director apprised of the status of the Production budget on a regular basis.



Liaison

-Facilitate clear communications throughout the production process, and act as a liaison between directors, designers, stage managers, and other production staff.

-Coordinate and conduct all design and production meetings.

-Attend first read through, designer run, load-ins, technical rehearsals, previews and strike as necessary.

-Maintain department contact information and show rosters.



Support

-As necessary, support productions with hands-on projects.

-Maintain a safe work environment at all times.

-Address safety hazards with appropriate personnel promptly.

-Be physically present for technical procedures, in order to check in with crews, receive shipments, and solve immediate problems.





QUALIFICATIONS



-Relevant experience.

-Dedication to timelines.

-Ability to work quickly, effectively, and collegially with team members to meet deadlines.

-Ability to communicate effectively over email, zoom, and in person.

-Willingness to support artists and designers and problem solve with team members.

-Passion for live theater and appreciation for new works and uplifting inclusive storytelling.





COMPENSATION

$2,812.50. The position is currently part time
