Job Title: Music Director/Vocal Coach for Children's Musical



Location: Yonkers, NY and/or Pleasantville NY



Overview: Join our creative team as the Music Director/Vocal Coach for our spring production of Disney's Alice in Wonderland Jr! We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual who can bring the magic of music to life for young performers. This role involves collaborating with our team to create an unforgettable musical experience for our young cast members and audiences alike.







Responsibilities:



Lead and conduct music rehearsals, working closely with the director/choreographer to integrate music seamlessly into the production.

Teach vocal techniques, harmonies, and performance skills to young actors/singers.

Collaborate with the production team to coordinate sound design, and technical aspects related to the musical score.

Provide guidance and support to cast members during rehearsals and performances.

Requirements:



Proven experience as a Music Director or similar role in theatrical productions, especially working with children.

Proficiency in vocal coaching and conducting rehearsals.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Passion for working with children and nurturing their musical talents.

Accompaniment is not required - the production will be performed to music tracks, however piano skills for teaching music and leading warm-ups are needed.

Reliable transportation and flexibility to attend rehearsals beginning in early March, on Fridays (4-6pm) in Yonkers and/or Mondays (4-6pm) in Pleasantville. You will not be needed for every rehearsal.

Availability to attend tech week rehearsals and performances: June 17th-24th in the late afternoon/evening and weekend.

Must pass a background check and complete youth protection training program.

Preferred:



Background in music education or related fields.

Experience in theatrical productions geared towards children or family audiences.

Familiarity with stage production and technical aspects of musical performances.

Ability to commute to both locations (though we will consider separate applicants for each location if needed).

Ability to return in the fall for more programs and potentially travel to performing arts events.
