Millbrook Playhouse is seeking a Costume Designer/Shop Supervisor and a Wardrobe Supervisor/ACD for their summer Season.



Millbrook Playhouse, a small professional Summer Stock Theatre in Central PA, is seeking Costume Designers/Costume Supervisor and Wardrobe Supervisor to serve in their 2022 Summer season; shows include Camelot (small cast version), Jersey Boys, Rent, and Misery.



Millbrook Playhouse is a traditional summer theatre housed in a converted dairy barn with two stages, a 246-seat thrust stage and a 100-seat Cabaret Theatre. The Main Stage season comprises three large-scale musicals, and the Cabaret season consists of three smaller plays.



The Costume Designer/Shop Supervisor will design up to three productions. Designers must have sewing and building. Designers will execute the costumes for the productions assigned. Purchasing materials for costumes, collaborating with Stage Director regarding the overall vision of the production. Work with and guide Costume Shop Staff and Interns and work within the budget.



Wardrobe/ Assistant Costume Designer will work directly with costume designers. Applicants must have some background in costume design, construction, and wardrobe crew. Hair and makeup experience is a plus, but not necessary. Will assist with building and load in costumes. May have design opportunities.

Contracts start on or about May 25th through August 7th. Some flexibility on start and end dates.

Pay varies based on experience:

The weekly pay range for a Costume Designer/supervisor is $500 - $600 + BOE.

The weekly pay range for a Wardrobe Supervisor is $400 - $500 BOE.

Housing provided. Shared.

Bus and/or transportation reimbursement to and from Millbrook Playhouse is provided for people traveling from the tri-state area.

Dinner is provided on all working days. (Catered from local restaurants.)



Please note: that all employees must be fully vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus before arrival in P.A. All employees will be required to be tested for the Covid-19 virus and have a negative test result 72 hours before arriving. Proof of negative test shall be required on the day of arrival.




Salary: $400- $600+ BOE
