Eagle Theatre Managing Director Job Description



DUTIES: The Managing Director shall report to the Eagle Theatre board and is a co-collaborator with the Producing Artistic Director. The duties and parameters of the position are set forth below with a division of agreed-upon duties of 50% finance, 30% development, and 20% general management. The division of your duties will be reviewed on an annual basis.





QUALITIES:

Strong accounting and financial background

Entrepreneurial attitude and eagerness to grow with an evolving company

Flexible and willing to adapt during transitional period (pandemic conditions, plus working with new leadership and staff)

Experience working in or for non-profits, or willingness to learn

Passion for theatre and performing arts

Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

Grant writing and reporting experience preferred

Experience with Patron Manager, equivalent softwares, or willingness to learn

Willingness and ability to be hands-on when needed as well as work evenings and weekends for performances.

Excellent organizational skills

Experience with Google Drive, Quickbooks

Knowledge of Actor’s Equity Association rules or willingness to learn



Financial (50%)

Oversee financial activities for Eagle Theatre in partnership with Eagle Board, Producing Artistic Director and other full and part-time staff

Generate and track annual budgets after consultation with other staff/departments;

Identify financial goals and track progress throughout the fiscal year;

Gradually take over additional accounting duties, including payroll management and tax compliance, as approved by the Producing Artistic Director and the Board of Directors.

Oversees tasks of part time bookkeeping staff

Development (30%)

Lead all grant application, management, and reporting processes for Eagle Theatre in collaboration with Producing Artistic Director and Eagle Board;

Write grant narratives in collaboration with staff members;

Generate financial data to create grant budgets and report income/expenses;

Consult with Eagle Theatre Board members to find new grant opportunities;

Manage incoming donations through Salesforce and send thank-you letters quarterly to contributors.

General Management (20%) Shared in partnership with Producing Artistic Director

Oversees day to day responsibilities of the organization

Oversees strategic plan

Assist on marketing timelines and goals in collaboration with Producing Artistic Director, External Relations and Box Office Manager and external marketing consultant.

Setting, executing and upholding organizational policies

Providing general oversight to facilities and maintenance coordination

Communication/reporting to Actors Equity Association and rights and royalties

CONTRACT PERIOD AND COMPENSATION: As a full-time W-2 Employee, this position is compensated at an annual salary of $51,600. Additionally, Eagle Theatre provides a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) through PeopleKeep. Under our agreement, this position may receive up to a $250.00 reimbursement per month for qualified health care expenses.

This position may work some hours from home/remote but cannot be entirely remote.
