Internships - Dallas Children's Theater

Get experience with us. Dallas Children's Theater often uses qualified college undergraduate or graduate students of the performing arts, arts education or arts administration to work in full- or part-time internships.



Internships are customized for each participant and may include a combination of duties. A stipend is sometimes offered based upon the type of internship. Housing is not provided. Reliable transportation is required. Dallas Children's Theater will work with colleges or universities to arrange credited internships. Undergraduate and graduate students may apply throughout the year.



SUMMER 2020



Only the following positions are still open:



Production



Stage Management: All Stage Management Internships for Summer 2020 have been filled.



Technical Production: Technical Production Interns may choose an area of focus or participate as generalists. Interns will observe and work alongside professional technicians and will receive feedback on their projects that enhances their educational experience. Production areas include Costumes, and Lighting. Scenery Internships for Summer 2020 have been filled.



Communications



Development: Assist the Development Director with the annual fund campaign and fundraising events, and grant proposal writing. Duties may include research, planning, computer data entry, mailing list maintenance and general office assistance.



PR/Marketing: Assist the PR/Marketing Director in the promotion and sales of all productions, education programs and special events for the theater. Duties may include writing press releases, newsletter preparation, general office work and customer relations.



Education



Outreach: This is a part-time internship. The Education Outreach Intern will go to libraries and youth organizations to lead an interactive workshop with children and will assist the Education Director with class performances. A car is necessary for this position.
