Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) is a multi-disciplinary arts center located in Brooklyn, New York. The Individual Giving Coordinator provides front-line support for all Individual Giving programs including Membership, Patron Programs, and Annual Fund. Coordinates daily operations for BAM Patrons (donors giving $1,500-$9,999) with specific focus on the renewal and acquisition cycles, implementation of events, and donor communications. In addition, execute strategy for solicitation, stewardship, and benefit fulfillment for BAM Patrons and BAM’s Young Producers Program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with the Individual Giving team to execute the identification, cultivation, solicitation, renewal and stewardship of Patrons giving $1,500-$9,999.
Serve as the lead fundraiser for the Young Producers ($500+), providing strategic support and overseeing the daily operations of the program (communications, event planning, etc.)
Assist with renewal letter writing, managing solicitation mailings, & emails
Work with the Individual Giving and Major Gifts teams to strategize about Patron acquisitions, upgrades, and renewals.
Fill out contribution forms and process acknowledgements for Member & Patron gifts.
Liaise with the Marketing and Communications teams with regard to Patrons and BAM Young Producers communications.
Handle phone and email communication and follow up for donors as directed
Support the Membership phone line and email in concert with the Individual Giving Associate
Assist with event strategy and implementation.
Provide intra-departmental support as necessary, particularly during institution-wide, individual-based cultivation events and stewarding opportunities
Staff Patron Lounge and Patron Table as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and/or minimum of 2+ years of previous work experience, preferably in the performing arts or other non-profit organization
Computer literacy/technologically savvy a must (PC, Microsoft Office Suite)
Database knowledge (Tessitura or other fundraising database a plus)
Excellent writing and communication skills
Interest in the performing arts
Analytical thinking and problem solving
The ability to manage multiple competing priorities, efficiently and effectively
Ability to work remotely and in person
Compensation: The salary for this position is $54,000 per year. The role is represented by Local 2110 and will be paid in accordance with the BAM/UAW Local 2110 Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is full-time, non-exempt, and eligible for benefits. BAM provides a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan opportunities including both 401(k) and pension plans, as well as BAM-related benefits including access to BAM's fantastic programming.
Working conditions: Category 3 (Administrative Work with Light Physical Exertion)
