Position Summary:
Artisan Center Theater, a renowned performing arts organization in Hurst, is seeking a proactive and organized individual to join our team as the Box Office Manager. The Box Office Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations of our ticketing services, enhancing customer experiences, and contributing to the overall success of the theater. This is a leadership position that requires exceptional communication, customer service, and managerial skills.
Responsibilities:
1. Ticketing Operations:
- Oversee all aspects of ticket sales, including walk-in customers, phone inquiries, and online purchases.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of ticket orders and reservations.
- Coordinate with the marketing team to promote ticket sales and implement special promotions or discounts.
- Monitor ticket availability and suggest strategies to maximize ticket revenue.
2. Customer Service:
- Train and supervise box office staff to provide exceptional customer service to theater patrons.
- Resolve customer complaints and address inquiries related to ticketing, seating arrangements, and performance schedules.
- Foster a positive and welcoming environment for all patrons, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and courtesy.
3. Reporting and Financial Management:
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports for management review.
- Maintain accurate records of ticket sales, revenue, and other financial transactions.
- Assist with the reconciliation of ticket sales and financial reports.
4. Staff Management:
- Recruit, train, and supervise box office personnel, ensuring adequate staffing for all performances and events.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Organize and lead regular meetings to communicate updates, goals, and expectations.
5. Technology and Systems:
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of ticketing software and systems.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to ticketing and work with IT support if needed.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in ticketing technology.
6. Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments, including marketing, production, and front-of-house, to ensure seamless coordination for performances and events.
- Assist in planning and executing special events, fundraisers, and promotional activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Arts Management, Hospitality, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in a box office or ticketing environment.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle high-pressure situations and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in using ticketing software and systems (experience with industry-standard platforms is a plus).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A passion for the performing arts and an understanding of the theater industry is advantageous.
- Flexibility to work daytime and evenings, as well as weekends as per theater performance schedules.
