These new Guest Experience Representatives are the welcoming faces of the Metropolitan Opera and are the first to greet patrons at events and performances. In addition to greeting and general wayfinding, they will serve as the Met’s front line staff for vaccine screenings, assisting guests who may be having issues with the technology required.
Primary Responsibilities:
Greet guests attending events at the Met.
Exemplify guest excellence characteristics in all interactions with all guests and co-workers.
Provide accurate event information, including directions within and outside of the Opera House.
Notify supervisory staff and/or security staff of any emergency situations immediately as they occur.
Assist guests in using Clear app, Excelsior health pass app, Met e-tickets and other technology.
Direct guests who cannot provide proof of full vaccination to the Help Desk.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
Proven customer service experience.
Very adaptable and demonstrates a willingness to quickly learn and implement new front of house procedures and technology, including updates to health and safety protocol, as necessary.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge of several generations of iPhones, Androids, and ability to learn and gently assist patrons in using Met e-tickets and the Clear and Excelsior passes.
Ability to multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
This role is a part-time position and is on a performance call and as needed basis, based on the performance and event schedule. Guest Experience Representatives are generally scheduled for 4-hour shifts at a time, and hours can vary weekly and will include daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Ability to stand for varying periods of time.
You must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to be considered for an offer of employment. The Met Opera will be a fully vaccinated house.
