Victory Gardens Theater (VG) in Chicago seeks a full time Graphic Designer. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining the overall aesthetic of all Victory Gardens Theater materials. As a member of the marketing department, the Graphic Designer reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications, and works closely with the Artistic, Development, and Ticketing Services departments.
The Graphic Designer works collaboratively with each staff member at Victory Gardens to achieve the goals set forth by company leadership and to serve the mission of the theatre.

Primary Responsibilities
Maintain brand consistency across all VG collateral, including updating the theater’s style guide as-needed
Set artwork (photography, typography) for VG productions, and implement across various formats (posters, large-scale displays, web ads, etc.)
Design VG branded materials including brochures, window clings, lobby displays, flyers, email blasts, subscription materials, invitations, etc.
Typeset and format VG production printed programs
Maintain VG website content in collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Communications
Provide support for Marketing and Development special events as-needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
1-2 years of professional experience
Excellent verbal and written skills including proofreading and editing
Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, with high proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
Knowledge of basic typography / typesetting principles
Knowledge of HTML, WordPress, MailChimp preferred
A collaborative spirit, creative mind, and sense of humor
Excellent project management skills and the ability to work within tight deadlines, sometimes with short notice
Comfortable with large-scale print projects
Ability to manage, delegate and prioritize projects
Attention to detail and ability to incorporate feedback from multiple parties
A passion for live theater and the arts preferred
Knowledge of Spektrix a plus
Compensation:
Salary range is $30-$35K and commensurate with qualification and experience. Excellent benefits package.
