Position Summary:
This position works in the 5th Avenue Theatre Box Office, with the primary focus of maintaining office organization, being support of ticket agents, event reconciliation, training of ticketing staff, and supervises the Box Office when The Box Office Manager and Assistant Manager are absent.
The Box Office Lead assists guests in person and on the phone, with single ticket and subscription ticket sales, exchanges, upselling, donation asks, will-call and related services. Employees in this job classification may be assigned to either phones or the Box Office window depending on Theatre needs.
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate outstanding customer service and attention to detail, and who are team players, enthusiastic, articulate and have an interest in the arts.
Schedule
Full Time, 40 Hours per week; alternating schedules between show and non-show weeks.
Non-Show Weeks: Monday-Friday 9:30AM-6:00PM
Show Weeks: Tuesday or Wednesday and Thursday-Saturday 11:30AM-8:00PM
Transition Week: Monday and Wednesday-Saturday 9:30AM-6:00PM.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages the Box Office when the Box Office Manager and Assistant Manager are absent.
Process house/company orders and comp requests.
Print & allocate will-call.
Training Guest Services Associates and Box Office Volunteers.
Manage and maintain box office funds and staff parking passes.
Resolve Customer Service Issues with patrons.
On national tours, the Box Office Lead will assist the Box Office Manager and the Box Office Assistant Manager. Each of whom will work closely with the touring Company Manager regarding company ticket orders and show settlements. Also includes continuous communication with the company manager to handle any last minute issues that arise up to show time.
Help assist our inbound phone center with inbound call volumes.
Data cleanup, scheduling and merging duplicate accounts in Tessitura.
Assist guests on the phone and at the box office window for single ticket and subscription ticket sales and exchanges.
Describe and promote season ticket packages to single ticket buyers.
Provide general information to subscribers and guests.
Communicate & provide assistance throughout the season to their portfolio of subscribers.
Accurately count and balance received checks, cash and credit cards at the close of shift.
Support The Theatre’s fundraising efforts with simple donation requests during sales transactions, including explaining The Theatre’s donor benefits, specials, and offers.
Deliver outstanding customer service.
Answer guest questions promptly, accurately, respectfully, and thoroughly.
Provide assistance as needed on various administrative projects.
Essential knowledge and Qualifications:
At least 2 years directly working with the public in sales and customer service leadership, and problem-solving, with direct reports.
Strong skills to lead, train and motivate others.
Demonstrated ability to work with the public and use/model conflict resolution skills for exemplary customer service outcomes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
The individual in this role must exercise sound decision making and have good problem-solving skills, and also have exemplary attention to detail and ability to manage multiple activities.
Analytical decision making, financial acumen, creativity and ability to think outside the box.
Skills to maintain confidentiality as warranted and to exercise tact and discretion.
A sense of humor is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:
The full-time annual salary range is $38,000 to $43,500 commensurate with relevant experience.
