Front Bar Manager
The Bar Manager will support the daily operations of the Food & Beverage program by supervising and educating bar staff with an emphasis on friendly and efficient service. They will create staff schedules and manage labor costs, time keeping and cash handling. They will maintain inventory and purchasing for the bar. They will ensure adherence to all Chicago food safety procedures and guidelines. They will coordinate and collaborate with other departments to provide a world class experience. Must be able to consistently work 40-50 hours per week, focusing on late nights and weekends.
Areas of Responsibility:
Supports, educates and coaches the Front Bar Team as the Manager on duty in the daily operational tasks with a deep knowledge of craft beer, wine and sprits
Creates schedules and manages timekeeping, labor cost, and cash handling.
Maintains inventory and makes purchases for the bar.
Collaborates with café and other Steppenwolf departments to provide our guests with a world class theater experience.
Successful candidates will have:
Food Safety Manager Certification
Basset Alcohol Certification
Desired Qualifications:
3 plus years of food service management experience
Able to work 40-50 hours per week focusing on late nights and weekends
A passion and knowledge of the performing arts community
Compensation:
Salary range: $59,000-$64,900 with excellent benefit package for full time employees, including medical, dental, vision insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, vacation pay, paid sick time, personal days, Ventra transit benefit program, employee assistance program and 401(k) matching retirement program.
