Executive Director - Zilker Theatre Productions

Entering our 63rd year, Zilker Theatre Productions (ZTP) is dedicated to strengthening community, enlivening the spirit, and inspiring the artists of today and tomorrow by sharing the magic of musical theater with Central Texans by producing the Zilker Summer Musical as well as sponsoring a variety of other community outreach and youth training programs. We are looking for a new Executive Director to lead, strengthen, share, and grow the passion for musical theater and the performing arts. The Executive Director serves as ZTP’s head administrative staff member, reports to its Board of Directors, and is responsible for executing ZTP’s operational and strategic plans, managing ZTP staff members, and providing excellent project and administrative management to all of ZTP’s operations. Responsibilities in this senior leadership role include: Management of operations, including maintaining and strengthening relationships with ZTP Board of Directors, show producers, creative and production teams and cast members to ensure high quality productions Develop and manage the annual Zilker Theatre Productions budget to support the organization’s programmatic and institutional priorities. Between $300k-$500k annually Oversee and champion fundraising activities, including individual gifts, corporate sponsorships, special events opportunities, governmental support, and foundation grants. Grow the list of sponsors each year to help the organization thrive and grow. Model and support the mission and values of ZTP by demonstrating inclusive behavior Oversight and management of performance, audition, and rehearsal venues Recruitment and direction of additional support staff While the role and responsibilities are year-round, it is expected that the time commitment to the position is seasonally full time in concert with our summer performance schedule. Qualifications Five years experience in the performing arts and/or non-profit administration, preferably in musical theater, as a performer or a member of executive or production staff, or any combination thereof Tangible, executable vision for ZTP as a vibrant, service-oriented organization, an integral member of the Austin performing arts community Strong preference for previous development experience Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills For consideration, please submit a letter describing your vision for ZTP (not more than 2 pages), a CV/resume, three professional references, and requested salary to: ZTPSearch at gmail dot com.
