Northern Stage in White River Junction, VT seeks a highly motivated Education Fellow for its 2021-2022 season. Northern Stage is a LORT D 240 seat regional theater, producing a mainstage season, new works development, and extensive educational programs. The Education Fellow reports directly to the Director of the Education and works closely with the Education Manager, Teaching Artists, and Education Production Teams. This position is a vital member of the education team and provides a learning opportunity for the Fellow to hone their skills in theater education under the tutelage of experienced professionals.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Provide Education Manager with admin support: scheduling, data management, filing, script maintenance, etc.
Assist in facilitating events, workshops, Youth Ensemble Studio Main Stage Days, and Boot Camp weekend sessions.
Serve as child guardian for 2021 Summer Shakespeare Intensive.
Assistant direct Youth Ensemble Studio Fall Theater Lab.
Serve as a member of the production team on Youth Ensemble Studio Spring Main Stage Musical.
Help facilitate auditions and prepare audition materials for education productions.
Co-Teach Youth Ensemble Studio JR. after school Academy Classes and Vacation Week Studio Project with Education Manager.
Coordinate Boot Camp Sheet Music and Accompaniment Tracks with Vocal Coach.
Serve as a monologue coach for Boot Camp Scholars.
Serve as a chaperone for the Boot Camp trip to NYC.
Serve as an in-school teaching artist for the BridgeUp: Theater In The Schools.
Attend weekly Education team meetings.
Collaborate with other departments (artistic, sales & marketing, finance, production, devo).

QUALIFICATIONS:
College degree or at least 1 year experience in theater education.
Enjoy working with children of all ages.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
Ability to maintain grace under pressure and to keep up a positive attitude.
Contract Dates: 06/21/21-05/29/22
Compensation: $12/hour, with an average commitment of 40 hours/week.
Job Type: Full Time. Standard work days are Tuesday – Sunday, but expect to work nights and weekends as rehearsals and performances require.
Housing: Housing is available to rent from Northern Stage for $700-$1,000/month, all utilities included.
