Barrington Stage Company, an award-winning theatre company in the Berkshires (Pittsfield, MA), seeks a Donor Relations Assistant to join the Development team. The right candidate has a genuine interest in theatre and in providing personalized concierge services to our top supporters to create an outstanding donor experience. The assistant has skills in customer service, CRMs (Customer Relationship Management Systems), and writing and research. They must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced office environment, while maintaining a positive attitude on the development team. This remote position is 10-20 hours a week, and begins immediately. From Memorial Day through Labor Day (in season), the assistant position will be full-time (40 hours a week) and the candidate will be required to be on site in Pittsfield, MA. Dates can be slightly flexible. However a commitment to work through the 2024 summer season is a must.

Responsibilities:
Department Newsletter – Design, schedule, draft content of our monthly donor newsletter
Database / Donor Relations – Assist with donation entry in BSC’s database and preparing acknowledgment letters; Assist with ticketing and other services for major donors; Assisting with pulling reports, appeal lists and cleaning same
Donor Research – Research individual, foundation and corporate donor prospects
Special Events – Assist with all aspects of party and event management including invitation design, RSVP tracking, and follow-up
Legacy Society / Business Partners – Assist with meetings, collateral, etc to advance these program
General support as needed for the department (ie, drafting agendas, taking minutes, running errands)
Additional Responsibilities:
Show Postering – 2-4X a summer
Requirements and Qualifications
A self-starter with excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat
Experience and interest in producing e-newsletters using graphic design (i.e., Canva)
Interest or affinity with customer relations software (particular Tessitura)
Strong writing and communication skills
A solutions-oriented team player
Positive! Upbeat! Personable! Able to professionally engage BSC’s patrons
Held to high personal standards of excellence
Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Interested in fundraising, the Berkshires and/or theatre is a strong plus!
Must be able to lift 40 pounds and have license and car.
Salary: $15-$18/hr
