Disney's The Little Mermaid - Area Stage Company

The Area Stage Company is proud to announce that we have obtained special permission to perform the original broadway script of Disney’s The Little Mermaid in an all new immersive style. Following our critically acclaimed, smash hit immersive production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, this production will allow audience members to step into an old sea port tavern where sailors gather to exchange myths of merfolk and tales of adventure. This is where Ariel and Eric’s worlds will come to life around (and above) the audience.



WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Strong dance experience required.

Ability to read music.

Actors who have multiple skills (playing an instrument, puppeteering experience, etc.)

Character actors that can portray multiple roles.



AVAILABLE ROLES

Ursula - male or female, ages 20-45

Looking for a strong, masculine, Tim Curry type to create a new approach to Ursula that harkens back to her drag queen roots. Strong dance experience and hearty voice a plus. Role is also open to women.

Rehearses at Area Stage Company Blackbox Theatre. Tech week and performances at the Adrienne Arsht Center.



Rehearses July 11th - August 8th 2023.Performs August 9th - 27th 2023.


Salary: $400-$500/wk depending on equity status
