Gulfshore Playhouse, a not-for-profit LORT organization located in Naples, Florida seeking a Director of Community Engagement.
Gulfshore Playhouse offers a diverse season of straight plays and small musicals ranging from venerated classics and Broadway hits to contemporary works and world premieres. The Playhouse is passionately committed to producing high-quality, professional theatre which exceeds the expectations of the cultured residents and visitors of Naples, FL, many of whom are regular theatre patrons in New York, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.
Gulfshore Playhouse has performed for many years in an intimate 200-seat venue at the Norris Center, a municipal building run by the City of Naples. The Playhouse is in the final phases of a $66M capital campaign and has broken ground on the Baker Theatre and Education Center, a state-of-the-art facility, featuring a 350-seat mainstage with a Broadway-sized stage, a 125-seat flexible space, rehearsal studios, classrooms, and rental space. This is an extraordinarily exciting time for the Playhouse, which is experiencing unprecedented growth, and the Director of Community Engagement will have the opportunity to participate in it.

Representative Duties:
Reporting directly to the Director of Education, the Director of -Community Engagement will lead the organization’s efforts towards creating and managing mission-driven programs that strengthen the cultural fabric of Southwest Florida. Gulfshore Playhouse is seeking a creative individual who will serve the diverse needs of the community, expand access to and engagement in Gulfshore Playhouse productions, and create new opportunities through programs and partnerships. The responsibilities listed below are a starting point; this is a new position at Gulfshore Playhouse that will provide the opportunity to grow and transform.
Lead the formation and management of engagement programs – including partnerships with cultural and social organizations and groups, local businesses, and community leaders, as well as internal, Playhouse-led programs. The Director of Community Engagement will cultivate new relationships with potential partners and create long-term and short-term projects that mutually benefit all parties.
Develop evaluation methods that assess the success of programs – including surveys and other forms of qualitative and quantitative feedback and keeping meticulous records of all data collected.
Serve as a key ambassador for Gulfshore Playhouse to the greater community – including giving presentations, attending community events, and serving as a liaison on behalf of the organization as needed.
Manage ongoing audience engagement offerings – including moderating/leading programs in conjunction with Artistic & Education staff members. This can also include the creation of new programs/partnerships that provide opportunities for audience members to more deeply engage with Gulfshore Playhouse programming.
Work to ensure that the greater Naples community are aware of, feel a part of, and feel welcomed into Gulfshore Playhouse.
Administrative
Coordinate with the Marketing and Audience Services departments to create and enhance strategies that support and expand audiences. This individual will utilize their deep knowledge of the community to determine ticketing programs and marketing campaigns that will broaden the audience base.
Create and manage budgets for projects. Additionally, this individual will work with the Development department to seek opportunities for individual donor or foundational support.
Assist in the writing of grant proposals as necessary.

A confident public speaker, capable of clear and thorough communication with a diverse range of people including coworkers in other departments, community partners, families, students, patrons, donors, and community members. They will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A passionate person who approaches their work with a spirit of service, adventure, and excitement.
Spanish fluency is highly preferred, but not required. Familiarity with Southwest Florida is a bonus.

Salary: $56,000-60,000 plus excellent benefits
