Children’s Theatre Company (CTC) is seeking qualified candidates for our paid Design and Digital Marketing Internship. This is a part-time internship, averaging 20-hours per week and is a great opportunity for early career graphic designers to learn about designing and creating content in a non-profit setting. This internship will run from July or August of 2022 to June 30, 2023. This position requires someone who is has demonstrated graphic design skills and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite as well as being detail-oriented, customer focused, and able to positively contribute to an anti-racist/anti-bias organization. Applicants for this role should have robust communication, collaboration, and time management skills.

POSITION SUMMARY
In collaboration with the Director of Communications and Marketing and the Design and Digital Content Manager, this position is responsible for helping create exceptional collateral that promotes CTC’s programming. Daily tasks will be focused on creating collateral for show programs, print and digital advertising, mailing pieces, social media graphics, website images, and similar using brand guidelines and institutional standards.
This position will occasionally collaborate closely with the other departments at CTC such as Development and Education to develop collateral for projects in those departments, and will also engage in all Marketing team meetings, where there will be opportunities to offer input on strategy, show positioning, messaging, audience engagement, and related subjects in collaboration with the rest of the CTC marketing team
This position reports to the Design and Digital Content Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Design and Content Creation
• Create, using brand guidelines and institutional standards, multimedia design collateral including advertising, promotional materials, signage, invitations, publications, as well as creating digital collateral for the website, emails and social media
• Assist in generating video content including shooting footage, interviewing artists and editing footage
• Collaborate closely with the other departments at CTC such as Development, Education, and Plays for New Audiences (PNA) to develop collateral for their projects
• Offer input on strategy, show positioning, messaging and related subjects in conjunction with the rest of the CTC marketing team
Collaborate with all departments in the furtherance of CTC’s goal of being an anti-racist/anti-bias theatre that works towards Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
• Study topics that lead to a deeper understanding of how white supremacy, racial violence, and systemic racism have shaped American society and how that shapes CTC’s workplace and the lives of CTC employees
• Encourage and empower everyone to speak out against racist workplace practices and policies
• Positively contribute to the ACT One platform, creating a future where our theatre is a home for all people, all families, reflective of our community
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience
• Demonstrated skill in design, with portfolio demonstrating accomplishments
• Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite essential
• Demonstrated knowledge of web, social media and email tools and technology strongly desired
• Demonstrated skill with non-linear video editing software such as Premiere Pro preferred
• Demonstrated ability to excel in both collaborative and self-directed projects

COVID-19 Vaccine

COMPENSATION
The pay for this part-time internship is $16.50 per hour. Benefits include sick and safe leave and the ability to contribute to a 403(b)-retirement savings plan.
