JOB SUMMARY:
The Development Director is responsible for executing the organization’s development plan, acquiring major gifts, cultivating donors, grant writing, and overseeing special fundraising events towards a goal of $900,000 in annual contributed income. The Development Director will be skilled at building relationships with CRT’s patrons and donors, as well as integrating oneself into the culture of CRT and the community of Creede.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & TRANSFERABLE SKILLS:
1-3 years Development experience in a non-profit (performing arts environment a plus), including involvement with donor cultivation, fundraising, individual giving, and grant writing.
Excellent written communication skills.
Ability to communicate with board members, donors, patrons, and funding institutions in person, by phone, and via email.
Ability to work independently, as a collaborative team member, and team leader.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
High level of discretion and confidentiality.
Experience with Spektrix, or comparable donor / patron database system (Tessitura, TicketAgent, etc.) a plus.
Experience with Endowment and Capital Campaigns a plus.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
English fluency required.
Spanish fluency a plus.
Ability to lift 10lbs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OVERVIEW
Develop and implement a comprehensive and measurable development plan.
Identify, cultivate, and solicit prospective donors and show sponsors.
Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and sensitivity with CRT donors and audience.
Manage fundraising database and tracking systems.
Collaborate with the Managing Director in the creation and forecasting of CRT’s annual Budget.
Identify and pursue potential grant opportunities based on the priorities of CRT.
Write, submit, and report for grants.
Generate content for direct mail appeals, newsletters, and special event invitations; and development content for CRT’s seasonal program, brochure, and other marketing materials as required, in collaboration with Marketing.
Maintain development pages of CRT website.
Coordinate preview receptions, parties of note, and other fundraising special events in partnership with the Artistic and Production teams.
Coordinate the biannual Gala in partnership with the Producing Artistic Director, Director of Production, and the Gala Committee.
Commit to CRT’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Initiative.
Serve as a Creede Repertory Theatre administrative team member.
