About the White Plains Performing Arts Center (WPPAC):

The WPPAC is a 410-seat state-of-the-art professional regional theatre located in downtown White Plains built in 2003. An integral part of the revitalization of downtown White Plains, the White Plains Performing Arts Center (WPPAC) was built to provide the community with access to a full array of performing arts programs and activities year-round. Through a combination of professional theatrical self-produced productions and presentations of nationally and internationally known performing artists and companies in the disciplines of dance, music, children’s programs and other performances, the WPPAC provides the residents of White Plains, the surrounding communities and the tri-state area an intimate, comfortable and affordable setting to see a show. The WPPAC also provides a professional theatre space for local arts organizations and groups to rent to present their performances or to host their meetings.



White Plains Performing Arts Center is seeking a creative, energetic, and strategic Manager of Development who will lead the renewal and growth of contributed revenue during this important phase of the organization’s development.



The Manager of Development will be an equal member of a small team and will work closely with the Pres. of the Board, trustees, and other part-time and seasonal team members to coordinate and execute fundraising activities.



Responsibilities:

This position will focus on all aspects of fundraising including but not limited to individuals, foundations (both corporate & family), government sources, sponsorships for Mainstage productions, Concert Series and educational programs, and possible grants.



The candidate will develop a fundraising plan and calendar in consultation with the staff and trustees to meet the growing needs of the theatre.



Education Required: Bachelor’s degree, CFRE preferred



Experience/Skills Required:



• 3+ years of demonstrated success in development/philanthropy leadership, preferably in a cultural non-profit organization, with experience in the following:

individual giving, institutional giving, major gifts, annual fund/membership, planned giving, stewardship, development operations, and leadership in a major fundraising campaign.

• An appreciation for theatre, and in the ability to convey that appreciation engagingly and conversationally.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and working knowledge of donor databases.

Note: The theatre uses Audience View Professional (data/box office system)

• Proven success in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gifts

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with all constituents.

• Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail. Experience with donor management systems, and an interest in other current and emerging technologies related to fundraising.

• Knowledge about current giving trends as well as legal and tax-related requirements concerning charitable giving.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including a proven track record with successful grant funding.

• Willingness and ability to attend functions, meetings and events offsite and outside the regular workday if needed.

• Ideal Candidate would know the inner business and fundraising connections in the Westchester Community.





Note: This position offers flexible scheduling with some work-from-home options as well. The candidates must be local enough to commute to the venue easily.





Salary & Benefits:

Part-time with flexible scheduling and some work-from-home options as well. The candidates must be local enough to commute to the venue easily.

Salary range: $55,000 - $60,000, based on experience

A full benefit package is available

Room for growth into a full-time position
