Orlando Repertory Theatre (“Orlando REP”), one of Central Florida’s oldest arts groups, is the State of Florida’s only professional Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA), and the seventh iteration of a company founded in 1926. Each year, we reach over 100,000 individuals in our three-theatre facility and in the community through our season of professional productions, a Youth Academy of camps and classes, and innovative educational and community engagement programming. We work closely with the University of Central Florida in many different capacities – most notably, hosting the Master of Fine Arts program in Theatre for Young Audiences.

Job Summary:
The Company Manager (full-time, year-round) ensures the highest level of satisfaction between the company and our seasonal employees working on productions. This includes cast and crew contract administration, royalties and licensing, working with union workers, organizing auditions, and supporting the Artistic Director. The Company Manager reports directly to the Artistic Director and also works with other Production and Administration Department personnel related to all aspects of company management activities.
Individual Duties and Responsibilities:
• Running the Company Management office with the daily administration of: drafting memos and letters, filing and record keeping, cast and crew contract administration, royalties for the entire theatrical season, benefits administration for the union workers, and audition postings.
• Managing all aspects of the seasonal audition process, including acting as the casting associate for each director, posting audition dates and notices in various media forms, maintaining Orlando REP’s casting database, scheduling, planning and attending all season auditions and callback sessions for each show, as well as any emergency or replacement casting.
• Developing and managing the annual budgets for union and non-union actors for the season based on casting needs determined in coordination with the Artistic Director and Orlando REP’s Guest Artist Agreement with Actors’ Equity Association.
• Supervising all contracted actors on behalf of the organization and monitoring their performances on each production under the supervision of the Artistic Director.
• Creating and negotiating contracts for each project with all contracted actors or production designers/crew members, and protecting their work conditions and wages against any violation that may arise during the creative process.
• Reporting to the Artistic Director, and assisting him/her on any project that may need company management support and expertise, which includes though is not limited to: advance research on future projects, travel arrangements for the executives and artists, and liaison work between the industry professionals out-of-town and the executives.
• Working closely with the Production Manager and Stage Managers to execute each theatrical production successfully in terms of protecting the interests of both the organization and each contracted artist.
• Working to secure rights and comply with royalty contracts, stage rights, and licensing for each upcoming production as requested by the Artistic Director, and ensuring that all requirements are met both in the production and in marketing materials.
• Coordinating and monitoring housing, hospitality, and transportation for the executives and actors/artists for the company’s year-round theatrical operations.
• Maintaining strong working knowledge of AFL-CIO union regulations for actors, musicians, and technicians; working closely with AFL-CIO unions in the industry (Actors’ Equity Association, Screen Actors’ Guild, I.A.T.S.E., etc.) to maintain compliance with regulations and requirements, including tracking and compliance for child actor hours.
• Maintain company script library, archival recordings of productions, and organizational memberships.
Qualifications:
• College degree or five years equivalent professional, technical experience.
• Strong business background/knowledge of theatre operations
• Strong working knowledge of AFL-CIO union regulations for actors, musicians, technicians, etc.
• 1-2 years of previous experience in a management position.
• Strong academic or professional background in operating budgets, business accounting
• Previous experience working with Actors Equity and I.A.T.S.E. union helpful.
• Computer skills: Word, Excel, Photoshop, QuickBooks.

• Starting Salary for this position: (Tier 4 – Manager) $38,000 annually or $18.27 per hour
