JOB DESCRIPTION The carpenter operates under the supervision of the Technical Direction team to build, load-in, & strike all productions. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Construct scenery to specifications as laid out by the Technical Direction team. • Assist in the general tool maintenance, as well as Paint and Scene Shop cleanliness & organization. • Assist in the transportation/shifting of scenery as required by the production staff. • Help maintain and improve stage space, Scene Shop, and storage facilities. • Assist in the changeover of productions or events. • Demonstrate use of proper safety equipment and methods for job assignments. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS • 2-3 years’ experience in professional scene shop preferred • Practiced in hands-on theatrical construction techniques and standards. • Experience with hand and power tool usage and maintenance. • Contribute to a culture of workplace safety. • Welding and theatrical rigging experience preferred, but not required. • Ability to understand scaled construction drawings and design drawings. • Strong interpersonal skills and motivation while working in a team or independently. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. • Willing to climb and work from lifts/ ladders and comfortable working at heights. • Ability to stand and work on your feet for much of the day. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This is a seasonal, full-time role reporting to the Technical Director

Compensation: $19.25/hour
