Business Office Associate - Florida Studio Theatre

Start Date: September 2024

Florida Studio Theatre, a LORT D regional theatre in Sarasota, FL seeks a Business Office Associate. This candidate must have knowledge of and experience in non-profit organizations.

Reporting to the Director of Finance and working closely with Managing Director.



We are seeking a candidate with not-for-profit financial experience who brings a can-do, entrepreneurial, and enthusiastic disposition to the job.



Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Processes payroll.

• Create payments for commissions, royalties, stipends, etc.

• Ensure all contracts for union employees are sent to the corresponding unions.

• Set up ACH payments.

• Pay online vendors and cut checks as needed.

• Positive pay checks with the banks.

• Create and file the sales tax and tourist development tax monthly.

• Oversee cash handling and companies cash needs working with the Box Office Assistant.

• Key Financial Edge Operator

• Review the invoice coding and the monthly financials to ensure items are posted to the proper budget line.

• Assist the Finance Director with the annual audit.

• Assist the Finance Director with any surveys and compliance reports.

• Manage and take ownership of the 1099 process.

• Assist with union reports as needed.

• Any other Business Office duties as needed.



The ideal candidate has:

• At least 3 years of Theatre Business Office experience.

• Experience and understanding of Accounts Payable.

• Experience in Blackbaud’s Financial Edge NXT

• Experience in Tessitura

• Experience in ADP

• Experience with Union payroll.

• The ability to think critically and meet deadlines.

Salary range: $45-$55K
