Audio Visual Coordinator - City of Tarpon Springs

Description 

Under general supervision of the Information Technology Director, the audio-visual coordinator provides technical, conferencing and recording assistance to all scheduled and unscheduled official City meetings. The audio-visual coordinator also executes the operations of the stage, backstage, and related areas for the timely production of national, regional and community events at the Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center. 

Examples of Duties

 Multi-Media & Graphic Design Desktop Publishing Support: Produces and directs multi-media events and productions, which can contain video, stills (of various formats), music, live narration, taped narrations, and live performances. Will physically set-up the equipment and may be the technical manager during the event. Confers and offers suggestions on the best means to present the material. Determines the most effective use and distribution of resources to achieve the maximum technical quality. 

Audiovisual: Provides audiovisual support during media events or assignments as needed. This shall include audiovisual support during official activities as requested. Routinely consults with staff in planning, designing, coordinating, and directing a multitude of activities. Produces and directs multimedia events. Events contain video, stills (of various formats), music, live narration, voice overs, taped narrations, and live performances. 

Set up and install equipment such as sound equipment, video equipment, microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing boards for City meetings, presentations, news conferences, theatrical shows and additional events as needed. 

Videotaping; broadcasting; conferencing; and providing technical support for all regularly scheduled and unscheduled official meetings. Also provides technical assistance for audiovisual presentations at these meetings. Initiate the start of all online platform meetings, testing audio/video/presenting, recording and moderating the online portion of the meeting as it relates to meeting protocols, sound and video technical issues, and host support as required.

Maintaining theater schedule which includes all performances, rehearsals, and meetings that take place at the theater.

Confer with and advise touring artists as to the operations and abilities and work with them to provide professional productions. Confer with acts to establish cues and directions. Review, modify and approve technical riders.

Overseeing contracted labor. These include set designers/builders and their crews, stage managers, choreographers, light designers, cleaning crews and sound technicians. 

Support the purchase and installation of custom sound systems. Monitor sound feeds to ensure quality. Ensure equipment is installed according to designated layout. Test and resolve equipment issues. Diagnose and correct media system problems. Mix and monitor sound inputs and feeds. Coordinate audio feeds with television images. Research potential equipment purchases and send in equipment for repairs as needed. Switch video input sources from one camera to another. Determine filming sequences and camera movements. Clean audio and video equipment and store properly. Ensure equipment the safe transfer and shipment of equipment. Compress and digitize audio and video data. Audio and video editing. Duplicate audio and video data. Maintain inventory of equipment. Assists in the loading in and loading of sets and equipment. Additional duties delegated by the Information Technology Director. 

Processes customer requests for service by determining details of request, providing initial trouble shooting support, escalating request to appropriate IT Staff if necessary, documenting request and solution, and training customers on the use of computer equipment, phone equipment, and network services. Implements and documents appropriate process improvements. 

Determine equipment and design needs for future audio, visual and technical requirements. 

Represents the City of Tarpon Springs Tarpon Springs admirably at all times.

Be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays frequently and overtime when necessary.

 Typical Qualifications

 EDUCATION 

High School Diploma or GED LICENSURE Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License 

ADMINISTRATIVE SKILLS 

Input data into computer programs, maintain logs, and research general information
