The Wilma Theater seeks someone with experience in theater contracting and artistic producing to serve as Associate Producer in the Wilma’s Artistic Department.

Position Summary
The Associate Producer reports to the Associate Artistic Director and works alongside the Artistic Director cohort and the Artistic intern.
The Associate Producer supports the Associate Artistic Director in execution of the cohort of Artistic Directors’ vision and manages the department’s contracting responsibilities. They are responsible for supporting the Associate Artistic Director in ensuring all departmental administrative tasks in the realm of company management, casting, budget, communications within the department and from Artistic to other departments, and workshops are executed fully and well. They are also responsible for producing ancillary events connected to Wilma productions.
Responsibilities
* Produce all developmental workshops.
* Produce ancillary events such as talkbacks, first rehearsals and closing toasts
* Maintain clear records of Artistic budget expenses throughout the season.
* Supervise the Artistic Intern (a part-time compensated position for the fall and spring semesters)
* Oversee contracting of all Actors, Stage Managers, Director, Dramaturgs, and Choreographers and act as administrative liaison for all employed as such. Ensure equitable contracts and healthy and safe working environments.
* Communicate with LORT council, Actor’s Equity Association, and Stage Directors and Choreographers Society to ensure ongoing strong relationship between the Wilma and these entities
* Coordinate all auditions, including EPAs and invited auditions.
Duties and Functions
* Support Associate Artistic Director in management of HotHouse Acting Company
* Attend first reads, designer runs, final dress, and preview performances of mainstage productions, offering feedback to the director.
* Scout plays, playwrights, directors, designers and actors by seeing local and national productions and attending play festivals; with an emphasis on local scouting.
* Participate in season planning and artistic vision conversations: advocate for voices from outside the dominant culture and anti-racist practices in all planning and visioning conversations.
Organizational Participation
* Attend staff meetings
* Provide information for and feedback on marketing materials and grants as requested
* Compile and share artist billing details for season productions with staff
* Support Development Department with entertainment portion of events such as the Fete, as needed.
Professional Development
* Attend play festivals and industry conferences
* Attend local and national productions
Position Qualifications
* Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in arts administration or other relevant administrative experience.
* Experience in contracting work for a unionized regional theater preferred. LORT Equity and Stage Directors and Choreographers contracting experience ideal.
* Must have experience negotiating and writing licensing contracts, preferably with playwrights.
* Experience producing events required
* The ideal candidate can multi-task and is highly organized.
* Seeking a candidate who likes to collaborate, loves supporting artists, and prioritizes care and joy in their work with others.
* The ideal candidate is proficient in remote-work software and systems, with the ability to learn Microsoft 365 and project management and video conference tools.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time, exempt role with an annual salary in the low $40,000s.

Hybrid Work Environment
Due to Covid-19, much of the Wilma administrative staff is conducted in a hybrid environment of remote and in-person work, dependent upon role function and responsibilities. In consultation with your supervisor, it may be determined that some administrative aspects of your role may be performed remotely.
Some night and weekend work will be required.
