Signature Theatre, Arlington, Virginia’s Tony Award®-Winning Regional Theatre, seeks an Assistant Business Manager. The Assistant Business Manager will be a highly detail-oriented individual to manage accounting transactions, administer payroll and other HR activities, oversee office management & assist the Director of Finance & Administration with reporting, reconciliation & management of a $13 million operating budget. This position is based at Signature Theatre’s administrative offices in Arlington, VA, with possibility for a hybrid in person/remote schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Will be responsible for day-to-day accounting functions including reconciliation of all bank/GL accounts including PR liabilities, year-end – W2’s, 1099’s, daily deposits & cash disbursements, and AR/AP
- Will support the HR Manager in weekly and semi-monthly payroll process
- Maintains accounting procedures manual for the Finance & Administration Department
- Act in a support function to the Director of Finance & Administration and assist with the external auditors during the annual audit process
- Partner with internal operational teams to produce any needed financial analysis and additional reporting
- Participate with operational support activities, to include annual budgeting and periodic forecasting, as well as cash flow forecasting
- Other administration duties as needed
Qualifications
Candidate must have knowledge of not-for-profit accounting and payroll (strong preference for performing arts/unions) with bookkeeping experience. Must be an organized/efficient independent worker with excellent proficiency in QuickBooks and bill.com is preferred. Strong preference for candidates with at least 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
Compensation
Signature Theatre offers a salary between $50,000 – $55,000 annually, with excellent benefits including medical, dental, disability and life insurance; vacation, sick and parental leave; as well as complimentary and discount tickets. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position at 40 hours per week with a possibility for telework/hybrid work environment.
