Resident Artist – Actor Educator
Full Time Salary, $31,200 annual, benefits available, Reports to the Director of Education
CLIMB Theatre is a touring educational theatre company whose mission is to inspire and propel people toward actions that benefit themselves, each other, and their community through plays, classes, and other collaborative works.
CLIMB’s Resident Artist – Actor Educator works with the Director of Education to conceptualize, create and implement educational lessons that are unified with CLIMB’s artistic vision of education through play. They are responsible for crafting lessons, touring and delivering all of CLIMB’s programming, ensuring they meet the community’s needs.
Responsibilities
· Gain a strong understanding of CLIMB’s unique process and approach
· Creating and developing lesson plans for individual and team-taught residencies
· Tour and perform CLIMB’s Social Emotional Learning plays and classes throughout the United States
· Responsible for complete load in/out, setup, and striking of all plays
· Collaborate with the Director of Education and partnering organizations on contact calls to gain a deeper understanding of their specific community needs
· Act as an ambassador for CLIMB
· Maintain all equipment, costumes, and vehicle maintenance; work with Production Manager to repair equipment as needed
· Participate in our fundraising and development efforts
· Must have a drive to approach the theatre making process in non-traditional ways
Requirements
· Must have a Valid Drivers License and clean driving record
· Proficient in MS Office, Adobe/Canva, and CRM/project management software
· Strong organizational and multitasking skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
· Education/Theatre/Improvisation experience with all ages, especially youth, preferred
· Must pass a background check
· Experience working with diverse communities
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment, schools, nursing homes, and outdoors. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. Position may require employee to lift supplies up to 50 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Full Time Salary. Hours of work and days will fluctuate as needs require, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends. This a touring position; staff may be on the road away from home for up to 2 weeks at a time.
