NNT Drama Studio was established in April 2005 with the objective of training the next generation of theatre actors.The programme is led by a faculty of experts in theatrical education and prominent theatre makers from inside and out side of Japan.
The final year students challenge "Pillars of Society(Samfundet Støtter)", written by Norwegian playwright Henrik IBSEN, known as the Father of Modern Drama, under the direction of MIYATA Keiko, Director of the Studio.
In 1877, the play premiered in Denmark, followed by performances in Norway and Sweden, and got huge reputation also in Germany. In 1880 in London, the play became the first one performed in English among IBSEN's work.
In recent years, National Theatre in London performed this play in 2005.
The story depicts some universal themes such as capitalism and dignity of human nature, etc.
